Interlochen temporarily using WSRJ 105.5
Interlochen temporarily using WSRJ 105.5
Looks like 105.5 is back on the air, helping Interlochen Public Radio restore its classic music programming to much of the region while WIAA resolves their antenna issues.

Re: Interlochen temporarily using WSRJ 105.5
Interesting and ironic, given the fact Northern Radio recently sold 94.3 WFCX to Central Michigan University (WCMU).
Hopefully, Interlochen can restore service to 88.7 MHz soon. They risk losing listeners to WCMU and its various satellites.

Maybe WIAA's transmitter hanged itself, like their notorious short time announcer from 1967?

Hey Ben - isn’t this a Steven Wright joke?

Re: Interlochen temporarily using WSRJ 105.5
Is Interlochen paying the power bill?
Re: Interlochen temporarily using WSRJ 105.5
88.7 is back on the air, but at very low power (850W TPO at 750' AGL: https://licensing.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.ex ... _num=28887)
Site is not mentioned in the STA, but I would guess it's from in the vicinity of the Harrietta tower.

It's almost assuredly from Harrietta.
850 watts from 750' above ground level is at least enough juice to get them into Cadillac and probably Manistee, too.

88.7 has been in weak but steady in the Manistee area. It also helps that the next closest 88.7s are in Madison, WI, Benton Harbor, and Windsor.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Mon Feb 17, 2020 1:44 pmIt's almost assuredly from Harrietta.

For comparison, WGCP (which is 2.65kW from about 650' above ground at the Harrietta site) gets out very well for its power. Last week, it stopped the seek near Hart.

Is 105.5 silent again?
Re: Interlochen temporarily using WSRJ 105.5
105.5 is still broadcasting IPR.
