Eric Mays vs. Dave Bondy
Eric Mays vs. Dave Bondy
A concerning trend that politicians continue to verbally attack journalists simply because they don’t like the stories being done on them. The latest involves Flint City Councilmember Eric Mays lashing out against 25-66 anchor Dave Bondy.
Politicians like Mays think if they criticize journalists for doing their job that they can pressure the media from investigating wrongdoing. There’s many things that deserve the media’s attention when it comes to good governance at city hall and the media should not be attacked for as our colleagues say “asking the tough questions”.

Lovin: I’ll put my period where I want it. “.”
Re: Eric Mays vs. Dave Bondy
I will also criticize who I want, when I want. I don’t need you to tell me that it’s OK to defend my coworkers or it’s not OK for me to criticize station management. You do you. My words are my own. Period. (Inside or outside quotation marks.)
Re: Eric Mays vs. Dave Bondy
Yes, you tend to say a lot of nothing. And you tend to go off topic. The thread is about the dangers of local politicians attacking local journalists who are merely doing their jobs.
Re: Eric Mays vs. Dave Bondy
What do you think news consultants do all day? “Attack” reporters?
No. They make a lot of money for doing absolutely nothing....

Re: Eric Mays vs. Dave Bondy
Lovin: still off topic. This thread isn’t about news consultants or the definition of “hyperbole”. (Period intentionally left outside of quotation marks!)

Always an asshole.

This happens all the time now. You can blame your criminal and chief for perfecting that behavior and making it common place.sinklair wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 9:34 am A concerning trend that politicians continue to verbally attack journalists simply because they don’t like the stories being done on them.
