Traverse City-Petoskey-Cadillac, MI – Victoria Bishop’s Michigan Broadcasters files a $75,000 deal to buy “Straits Country 97.7” WCHY from David Smith. Michigan Broadcasters will operate the station under a local marketing agreement until closing. It doesn’t own any other stations.

Traverse City-Petoskey-Cadillac, MI – 45 North Media files a $68,000 deal to buy WMTE-FM (92.5) from Mitten Media. 45 North Media already owns “Eagle 101.5” WMJZ, Gaylord, MI and under an Oct. 2018 local marketing agreement it simulcasts its programming on WMTE-FM. Mitten Media has a pending deal to sell its only other radio station in the Traverse City-Petoskey-Cadillac, MI market – WWMN (106.3) – to Blarney Stone Broadcasting. It is already operating the FM under a local marketing agreement.

1. WMTE-FM is on 101.5, not 92.5
2. WMTE-FM isn't a simulcast of WMJZ (they might air the same songs in the same order, but each station airs their own ads)

WMTE-FM is at 101.5, and located in Manistee. Not sure where the 92.5 frequency comes from? Also, I recall Todd Mohr's Mitten Media sold WWMN to Jon Yob's Mitten News in early 2018. Mitten News is presently LMA'ing that station to Blarney Stone, which, as North FM, is the topic in another entertaining thread.

Victoria Bishop is the wife of "Trucker Randy" Bishop, the former host of "Your Defending Fathers" on the former 94.5 WYPV.

Sounds like that format's coming back.

When 95.3 and 97.7 were swapped between Black Diamond (now simulcasting the Bear at 95.3) and David Smith (his son Kent had been running Straits Country on 95.3 before the swap, which was close to two years ago). Now David Smith has sold it to Trucker Randy, who airs a couple of talk programs with Oldies running the rest of the hours.

I presume no owner-occupied real estate is included in either case.
Both signals are Class A's. Also, WMTE has been operated by its buyer for the last year

So damn confusing the last five years with the near-continuous format swaps of stations up there.

My moles tell me the WMTE real estate and tower is included. Somewhere around 8 acres. As the old saying goes, the value is in the land.
