ABC 12 at Noon
With the cancellation of Millionaire I checked ABC12's listenings and it looks like they are expanding the noon newscast to an hour. Can anybody confirm this?

Why not just have news nonstop from Noon through 7 PM? We can't get enough! </sarcasm>

WOOD in Grand Rapids has been doing it for years. I think WGN does as well (Central time, of course)

That’s over 6 hours now every weekday spent on news, if I’m adding it up correctly.
Obviously they can sell ad time on news broadcasts, and they don’t have to pay more people to just keep reading what they’ve read a few times before. Less airtime to fill with syndicated programming that has to be paid for. It’s a smart move for the station.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see them move into the 7pm hr with news, if they think it’d work out for them, as others have already done so.
