This was briefly mentioned in another thread, but could CHKS be the most pathetic active rock station in the region? There is practically no new music despite stating “The best new rock”. Not only that, but many of their classics aren’t even rock. Today, I heard Come on Eileen. Really?
I wonder how many rock listeners in Sarnia tune in to the weak 105.5 translator, or even WRIF over this trainwreck.
Acceptable registrations in the queue through June 3 at 5:00p ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

106.3 Sarnia
Re: 106.3 Sarnia
Dexy's Midnight Runners? Now I want to tune in and listen
Re: 106.3 Sarnia
Yep, that one. They played it around 1PM. I know Sarnia/Port Huron is small market, but this song is more for CHOK.
105.5 gets out more than you would think. I know WRIF used to have a following in Port Huron, probably still does to a degree. Not sure how 89X does up there.
FM96 London is scratchy and a non factor.

Rock is pretty unhealthy right now. The genre is not doing that well.
Around December, I made some trips up to Holly and listened to Banana 101. Other than 1 new Shinedown song, it sounded like WRIF circa 2001. Papa Roach! Puddle Of Mudd! It made me realize how little there is in new rock.

I’m not a fan of translators either, since they usually ruin reception of out of market stations. I doubt more than 3 people listen to the AM signal on 1450.

I remember hearing that station on a trip through the Thumb circa 2013 /2014. I thought they playlist was kind of cool. In roughly one hour I heard Chilliwack, Prism, Ted Nugent, and Bob Marley. Maybe they've changed in the last few years.

Townsquare these days does a miserable job managing its rock stations, Y M.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.
