The "Jane Says" song got plenty of airplay on West Michigan rock radio years ago. KLQ used to play it regularly.
WRIF included it in rotation many years ago.
Not a fan of the song.
Know what would be really cool? Hearing Porno for Pyros on the radio.

I don't know why you people waste your time with corporate radio. w i d l, which you can stream at www.classicrocki92.com or by getting the w i d l app from the Google play store, is playing everything that did not come with their corporately design automated system.
These 500 countdowns and rock classics from a to z, are nothing more than a standard playlist with a title to make you think they're doing something special. They are not.
While you guys complain about what is not being played on stations, we're having a great time playing at all on w i d l, and yes I work there.
I hope you tune in and enjoy your memorial day weekend.

Re: WLLZ 500
I really only listen to the radio in the car. My phone is now being used for navigation and traffic app most of the time. The other times I am too lazy to hook the phone up to the radios aux port. The car does have satellite radio, but I honestly I am not in the car enough to make satellite radio worth the cost, plus it is really not that much better than OTA radio.
So when driving the easy option is FM Radio, during the week when driving to and from work it isn't to bad, I listen to the news, or sports. More recently I have been listening to WLLZ on the way home so I can catch the 420 deep cut. On the weekends it is the hardest, and I find myself switching between 89X, WCSX, WRIF, and WLLZ. WLLZ has been winning out because they have been stunting more on the weekends, but even then I am switching a lot. When the wife is driving or in the car she listens to the Breeze, she is pretty happy with it. She started listening because I suggested she check it out when it switched over and everyone here was talking about it. I am not much of a top 40 fan so if I am driving alone I will not even bother to check what they are playing.
Honestly the only good thing about the WLLZ 500 is getting a better overall picture of where the WLLZ playlist is centered. So far it really has been just their normal playlist absent the over played "classics" which will all appear on Monday as they get to the top.

The revised logo is an improvement cosmetically; glad the calls are prominently featured.
The red lettering should've been replaced with yellow outlined with black, though. Real Wheels never used this color scheme.
The playlist this weekend is nothing more than a no repeat version of the usual playlist.

Actually shocked that Bohemian Rhapsody wasn't #1, only #3

Good lord. Someone at iFart adores Queen evidently.
Until that stupid movie came out last winter, most classic rock stations avoided that song like the plague.

I have never understood the appeal of Queen.

Re: WLLZ 500
1) "We will rock you/We are the champions" being played at sports games. People like the band for that song alone.
2)"Waynes World". It made a whole new generation aware of them just by being in a movie.
3) they honestly did have a unique style. Freddie Mercurys range and more operatic style coupled with Brian Mays guitar tone and style. They defied genres.
Re: WLLZ 500
There is an appeal and they have at least two songs that are unique and have carried their weight over the years, BH being one, WWRY being the other.
Some of the other Queen tunes have never made the cut of “what I’d want to listen to” but at least those two stand the test of time.

Can't argue with you on your points! I guess not having to deal with traffic, etc, I listen way more at home. Also, when I do travel outside our listening area, I stream the station, because I enjoy what we play.szmigiel wrote: ↑Sun May 26, 2019 10:58 amI really only listen to the radio in the car.
