I would love to hear "Back in the High Life". Great song that I believe would fit the format well.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri Apr 19, 2019 7:20 am
A couple days earlier, heard a very uptempo Steve Winwood song (Roll With It) that doesn't belong on a station positioning itself as "relaxing."
Acceptable registrations in the queue through June 3 at 5:00p ET have now been activated. Enjoy! -M.W.

Oh, Winwood has been a family favorite for ages. Managed to get some tickets to see him (opening !) for Santana in 2010, took my dad, stepmom, aunt, uncle and three buddies. I love just about anything Steve has been involved in. Great voice. You know who it is when he starts singing.

I just put the Blind Faith CD in the car today and cranked it up while I was waiting for the Wife to do the grocery shopping, Great piece of music. Of course I am a fan of Vintage Classic Rock my favorite era of music it was my High School years

I would prefer to hear "The Finer Things" by Winwood.
That would be perfect for The Breeze.
"Roll With It" is NOT appropriate for a soft AC station.
And WOMC already wears out "Back In The high Life Again."

Both songs are perfect for both stations and that’s why you hear them on the two stations.stopnswop2 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 11:37 pmI would prefer to hear "The Finer Things" by Winwood.

Would you believe WHMI was playing "Can't Find My Way Home" minutes after that conversation last night?! Weird. But I'm not complaining lol
The Finer Things may be one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I never tire of that song or album.

Any Winwood tune is perfect for any format, That’s how talented and versatile the man is.Mega Hertz wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 8:13 amWould you believe WHMI was playing "Can't Find My Way Home" minutes after that conversation last night?! Weird. But I'm not complaining lol

Recently listened to the "Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" album again. Great stuff, and I remember my local FM rock station (WNAP in Indianapolis) playing the long title track in early 1972—something that is far beyond the capabilities of any commercial FM station today.Chuck Davies wrote: ↑Sat Apr 27, 2019 4:10 pmGreat song, Winwood is Great, He was with The Spencer Davis Group, Blind Faith, and Traffic in the early days of Classic Rock, You should check it out on YouTube.

That was FM radio’s best era, The Underground/Progressive Rock era 1968-1973.Bobbert wrote: ↑Sun Apr 28, 2019 12:29 pmRecently listened to the "Low Spark of High Heeled Boys" album again. What do people think of the new morning show?
My thoughts - they sound a lot like other ultra G-rated, politically correct morning shows I've heard on AC and Soft AC stations over the years. Not necessarily a bad thing; my point is - they don't stand out.
Part of this my fall on Tim Roberts' shoulders. Why does he let so few of his morning teams actually "perform" on the air? This is a pattern with morning shows found on stations under his leadership.
Dr. Don, Chuck & Rachel, Bobby & Staci, Rat & Puff, and until recently, Steve & JoAnn. Why go through the trouble of having a multi-person morning show when you're only going to let the air talent speak for six or seven minutes an hour?
It's no wonder so many of the Entercom/CBS music stations have underperformed in morning drive for YEARS!

I like them, they sound great.
But they do not get to talk enough.
Same issue with Bobby and Stacey.
Bobby saying one thing every 20 minutes followed by Stacey laughing is not a morning show.
At least Stephen and Joann get to talk more and even involve the listeners (well used to before Entercom stopped using the request lines)

It's nice that Stephen and Joann are being given some freedom to do longer stopsets.
You summed up the problem with Bobby and Staci beautifully.
The 98.7 morning duo needs to be given more freedom in order to really shine. They are talented folks; they were well regarded in Tampa.

MW, PPM has changed the game. If the data says shut them up and play more music that’s what programmers are going to do.
