I'm shocked they have lasted this long. Probably the WORST morning show to ever happen to Flint. Not that 'CK is listenable anymore by any stretch IMO. But I'm sure, if there is something worse than M&S (my sincere apology to the old Flint soda company!), Cume-U-Less *can and will* find it and put it on 'CK. I think they recruit from people who screwed up their fast-food orders! But I guess people actually listen to 105.5 still, but I'm just not one of them.

Frankly, I'm surprised they haven't just simulcast the AM (not that I like that station's format either).

WWCK as AOR... awesome station. WWCK as CHR... they were decent under Majac and Connoisseur, but they went downhill fast once Cu took over (imagine that!). I actually liked listening to Stress and Ian Richards' shows back then. Leroy and Pepper did a decent morning show, way better than M&S.

Ed, do you remember the awesome signal WWCK-FM had with just 2.35 kW from 101 meters HAAT, and later 3 kW when the Class A Rules changed slightly with Docket 80-90 and Docket 84-231? I was the one who told PCC he could be 3 kW again first. If you remember, they used to have a 4 Bay with 3 kW at 300 feet. They replaced it with a single bay at the top, and had to reduce ERP accordingly. But even in the late 1970s, even until the late 1980s, you could get it all over the place. Harrisville, Houghton Lake, Ann Arbor, Jackson, Lansing, Waterford, Utica, and most of The Thumb. There were no other 288As for many years, except Sylvania, OH, and then near the Gandy Dancer on the North Side of Apartment Buildings you could get it and not Sylvania. West Branch was off for a few years, and the 25 kW DA signal boomed in there. These were all with a decent portable like a Sony from that era. Or a good tuner and antenna. Or a Delco. I was amazed at how it was as good as WGMZ in places. And as long as you weren't too close to WOOD-FM.

Of course, as they say about good things, a whole bunch of 288s came on the air, went up to 6 kW equivalent, WWCK-FM went 25 kW DA, where the null was only <=3 kW, in the SE direction, 287A went on in Brooklyn, 287C went on in Hart, now all the Translators and Canadians are on the air, and the signal became marginal at best where it was clear before.
Is THAT where they got the idea for the 486-SX?

Bill Prady lived near Bloomfield Hills and went to Cranbrook. I swear, I think he got the name for the character Peter Cavanaugh on Dharma and Greg from listening to Peter on WWCK-FM. I remember that WWCK-FM came in quite well in Waterford back when I worked near Highland Rd. (M-59) and Crescent Lake Rd. circa 1983 or 1984.

Was that Arthur Morris or Art Morrison? I know that Art Morrison worked all over Michigan, especially I remember him being at WJML.

Isn't it funny how you associate certain people with certain stations? And certain songs with certain stations?

https://www.linkedin.com/in/arthur-morrison-bb140212

Anyway, the above link would suggest they are one and the same. I do remember a WAAM listener in Ann Arbor who thought Kevin Sanderson was "Kevin Sanders", and a WAMM listener in Flint who thought Florid Little was "Floyd Little".

WWCK-FM got out great in the rock era. And they had a wonderful bunch of jocks who KNEW the music. I remember driving all over this part of the state listening to Flint's Best Rock.
