Bruce Williams Dies...

Unread post by Trophyhead »

He's been away from radio for near six years, the former NBC Talknet financial-advice host died Saturday, just short of his 87th birthday.

Williams' popularity was at its peak in the late 80s and 90s, Bruce's subject matter was never my cup of tea.

One thing's for sure, he was never a flame-throwing host.

I used to tune in years ago. I enjoyed him at the time.

I used to listen to his TalkNet feed on the NBC line in between my breaks.

Wow, almost 87 years old. I remember when he nearly died flying his own airplane. He even hosted Talknet while in the hospital, recovering. One of his signature pieces of advice was to always get an attorney any time you're involved with a real-estate transaction, either buying or selling, whether for business or personal.

I spoke with his wife, and she is doing okay. She's been comforted by an outpouring of support, and commented that he lived life to the fullest. That will be on his headstone.

RIP....he was a good guy, and always interested in helping out a friend.
