Vernors
Re: Vernors
I went to school with the guy this story is about. He's actually "written the book" about Vernors.

New York and Chicago were all in with respect to their sanctuary status — until they were hit with the challenge of actually providing sanctuary. In other words, typical liberal hypocrisy.

No, I noticed that years ago. Keith even mentions the reformulation in the story.Bryce wrote: ↑Sat Jan 19, 2019 2:11 pmMight be the fact that taste buds dull with age?Vic Doucette wrote: ↑Sat Jan 19, 2019 12:44 pmThe taste is much mellower than it was when I was a kid.

Wow, I'm shocked at the negative responses here. Vernor's is my #1, the absolute bestest!
A salami sandwich with Miracle Whip and lettuce on Brownberry wheat toast washed down with an ice cold Vernor's is my favorite late night snack.

Re: Vernors
Once traveling through Missouri in the 60's I stopped at a ice cream stand and ordered a Boston Cooler. The older lady looked at me like I was from Mars. She asked whats in it. I told her ginger ale and vanilla ice cream and mix it like a milk shake. She looked and me in a very serious expression and told me that they do not sell any alcohol.
I said then just give me a chocolate malt! Then it clicked to me that with my mid-west accent she thought I meant gin or ale.

Thanks NS, they had a decent product back in the day, we used to buy cases even before Towne Club became popular.
