"Jet Airliner" has some of the funniest misheard lyrics i've ever read.
I personally as a kid thought the chorus was "We gonna tear that line off".
Music is my life.

1951. I would have been 5 years old. A folk group called The Weavers had a hit song played a lot on the radio. The song title was "So Long It's Been Good to Know You." To my five year old's ears, it was "So Long it's Been Good Linoleum."

I always thought the "Big Ol' Jet Airliner" chorus was singing "Big ol' Jedi Liner". Luke, I am not your father! 8)

1976. Our son was about four years old. A disco hit at that time was Play That Funky Music. He embarrassed his mother by mixing up the lyrics out in public.

I always have wondered who this "Reverend Bluejeans" character Neil Diamond was singing about.

I've never heard anyone mention this one.

"Oh, I finally found my fuselage,
Beyond the Yellow Brick Road."

I always had visions of Elton John schlepping his parachute and gear, looking for his fuselage after he bailed out.
Is THAT where they got the idea for the 486-SX?

Desmond Dekker "Israelites:"

"get up in the morning, same thing for breakfast ... "

"shirt them a-tear up, trousers ago ... "

When lyrics web sites appeared, they revealed much of my "Israelites" lyrics to be misheard.

Yes. I was about to submit that one. Many misheard lyrics end up sounding just as good as or better than the actual lyrics.
