WHLX 1590 and 92.7
WHLX 1590 and 92.7
According to Radio Insight, WHLX which is currently called The Gift, will be starting a new format after the Holidays, the article was dated December 14th so look for something to happen on AM 1590 and Translator 92.7.

Geez I haven't heard 1590 since it was WDOG (home of the News Hound).

As to the permanent format that will emerge - my guess is Oldies or Classic Hits.
Morgan Wallen is a piece of garbage.
Re: WHLX 1590 and 92.7
I’m guessing Classic Country, But Oldies would be cool, I receive them pretty good during the daytime so it would be a good alternative to the not so big 580. So we shall see.

Re: WHLX 1590 and 92.7
I definitely would love another oldies station, (1955-1974 only, but major emphasis on the 60s)
Music is my life.
Re: WHLX 1590 and 92.7
I totally agree with you, an Oldies without Can-Con although I have a passion for Canadian Music from the 70’s, probably because my Wife is from Windsor maybe that has a lot to do with it.stopnswop2 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 18, 2018 12:29 pmI definitely would love another oldies station, (1955-1974 only, but major emphasis on the 60s)

Re: WHLX 1590 and 92.7
No, 105.5 is now and always has been the translator for 1450, and the translator for 1590 is 92.7 which is a new translator. And will remain Rock 105.5, that’s all for now.syntheticexctasy wrote: ↑Wed Dec 19, 2018 1:28 pmdoes this mean whls and 105.5fm are changing as well?

Re: WHLX 1590 and 92.7
I think he was asking because 1450 (105.5) and 1590 (92.7) currently simulcast each other. If 1590/92.7 switches, what happens with 1450/105.5?RadioKev wrote: ↑Wed Dec 19, 2018 2:50 pmNo, 105.5 is now and always has been the translator for 1450, and the translator for 1590 is 92.7 which is a new translator. Re: WHLX 1590 and 92.7
1450 and 105.5 will be Rock 105.5, as it always has been since the 105.5 translator has been in existence.Hopefully that will clear that up, I guess I should have been clearer, sorry about that.ZenithCKLW wrote: ↑Wed Dec 19, 2018 3:39 pmI think he was asking because 1450 (105.5) and 1590 (92.7) currently simulcast each other. Re: WHLX 1590 and 92.7
I was just under the assumption that WHLS/WHLX were under the same ownership. I wasn't sure if 105.5 was technically a translator for HLS or HLX.

Re: WHLX 1590 and 92.7
WHLS 1450/105.5, WHLX 1590/92.7 two different stations with translators two different formats after the Holidays, I’m guessing Oldies/Classic Hits On 1590 and 92.7. As for 1450/105.5 it will stay as Rock 105.5 no changes on that station.

Do you live near Merritt and Platt Roads? Or are you Munn-Reese's next door neighbor? That might explain it. It actually has a pretty good signal for being up that far on the dial. I hear it all over most of SE Michigan. I remember it first as WSMA.

Anyone hear anything else on this station, other than the Radio Insight article from December 14th.
