Here's some further proof that Ralph Owen, and not Ron Cameron, is responsible for the 3 ball/2 strike rule in Detroit Catholic League baseball:

I would love to hear Ron's subdued reaction if someone asked him if he knew the guy, while adding, as an aside, that Owen was responsible for the rule change.

Well, they obviously need to rename that award to the Ron Cameron Trophy.

If Ralph Owen bought Ron dinner, then Ron knows him.

I was afraid that if they got him into a hospital for the knee surgery, the various blood tests and other tests that they routinely run before and after surgery would uncover other problems that he'd probably neglected or ignored over these many years. At least now hopefully he's getting the care that he needs. Best wishes to you Ron, hope you get well and back at it soon.

Well said. There was the feeling that something like this would happen some day, the way he's pushed himself, and that he would be forced to get the care he needed.

Hi Friend,

Its going to be a tough time with medical bills.

I appreciate my sponsors very much for sticking with me through this difficult time.

I'm looking to add more sponsorships so I can pay off my bills.

Be back on the air soon!

You have to admire his persistence. Thinking back to the original title of this thread—Ron Cameron in One Word—the word "persistent" would get a lot of votes. Good, bad, or in between, there's always been an almost unnatural persistence behind everything he's done.

Reliable sources inform me Ron is resting comfortably at a rehab center after successful knee surgery.
