Lighten up Mark.
If you would’ve been presented with the contract that he had, there’s no way you would have turned it down. The long, hefty money contract was Mike Illitch’s doing.
He’s a first ballot, probably unanimous, future Hall of Famer, Elite club he’s in with 500 HR’s, 3000 hits, Triple Crown winner.

Oh, I completely fault Mike Ilitch for that absurd contract. No question.
First ballot hall of famer without a doubt, but his best playing days were many years ago. His continued presence arguably hindered rebuild progress.

Well, I would certainly hope so! Miggy will get his league-wide farewell tour this season then celebrate an outstanding career.

I just can't shag the feeling that when some player is offered an exorbitant salary, they downshift just a little. They may not even realize they are doing it. Back in their subconscious is a small voice reminding them they are set for life, no matter how hard they play.
