Byron Allen bidding for Washington Commanders
Byron Allen has driven ABC 12 into the ground. He won’t pay people what they’re worth. We’re not rehiring key positions.
So how does Byron spend the piles of cash he’s sitting on right now?
Increasing pay for his current workers? Nope.
Adding new staff to help ease the workload? Nope.
Buy a troubled NFL franchise (not named the Detroit Lions)? Yep!

It's his money. What's the big deal? I get a kick out of how everyone thinks the employer should take good care of the employee. Sounds great, but Allen is only interested in one thing. Allen. Employee's in this day and age are only necessary evils.

What a joke. He can't even run ABC12 like a real TV station.

Are any of the three being run correctly?whitebalance wrote: ↑Thu Nov 03, 2022 5:28 pmWhat a joke. He can't even run ABC12 like a real TV station.

ABC12 going to air Commandos pregame/coaches shows since Byron Allen wants to own them. I do like that the Lions own the Redskins/Commandos err Commanders taking the last 5 of 6 VS them which 4 of them came when Stafford was the QB which he owns the Redskins.
Go Pistons, Let's Go Redwings.

People are always heading for the exit in this market. It's a start up market. Nothing more, nothing less. This used to be a market that people wanted to work in, but that was a long time ago.
Re: Byron Allen bidding for Washington Commanders
Marquette, Alpena, Lansing, Traverse City are all starting markets. Flint isn’t (or shouldn’t be). Start paying people more and you’ll keep people with good experience and be able to recruit people with more than college degree experience.
Maybe Byron can start investing in his current stations before buying a NFL team…

This is a startup market now. No doubt about it. Any one with experience that is outside looking in at Flint and the Tri-Citiessinklair wrote: ↑Fri Nov 04, 2022 7:33 pmMarquette, Alpena, Lansing, Traverse City are all starting markets. will say nope.. Flint and Saginaw have very little appeal. Personally, I like the area. But I like train wrecks.

You're missing the point. Allen could care less about WJRT. He doesn't care if it's #1 or #3. Doesn't matter. All he cares about is cash inflow. 12 is just numbers on a spread sheet to Allen. They could run Leave It To Beaver 24 hours a day and still make tons of cash. That's what he cares about. When he has squeezed the last drop of milk out of 12 he will sell it at a profit and move on to the next cow. Simple as that.sinklair wrote: ↑Fri Nov 04, 2022 7:33 pmMarquette, Alpena, Lansing, Traverse City are all starting markets. Flint isn’t (or shouldn’t be). Now, we just need somebody to buy the Detroit Lions.

Sinclair likes taking last place organizations and making sure they stay there. Sounds like Lions material to me!
