My wife made the move from Android to iPhone. We couldn't add apps from the app store or finish proceeding with initial set up because it asked for a 3 digit credit card security number from a card we no longer have. Only purchase we ever made was Apple TV. After 1:13 on the phone with 3 different Apple support idiots, they could absolutely not figure out how to change my account to a new credit card. Wrote up a "ticket" to advance the issue.
Decided to check reddit to see if anyone had the same issue, one guy said to go to Apple tv and log in to do it. Voila!
Amazing that nobody at Apple would have mentioned that.

Apple products for many are more of a fashion statement than a choice surrounded by good reasons. The company has certainly profited by that.
I once heard an analogy, although certainly not perfect, but seems appropriate: If you are the type of person that arrives in a subdivision of new homes and ends up purchasing one of the furnished model homes, you may very well be an Apple customer. If you meet with an architect and make changes in a home soon to be constructed, moving walls around, placing a bedroom on the other side of the house, etc., you may very well be an Android customer.
