Computer Advice Needed

My Windows 24 laptop I bought just three months ago. I'm using the Chrome browser.

I've started getting annoying pop up ads. They block the screen and the only way I've found to get rid of them is to restart my computer. After a restart, it's OK for about 15 minutes and then another pop up is back. What can I do?

For starters, ignore the troll who responded immediately below you.

As to how to fix the problem, you likely unknowingly allowed a website (or multiple websites) to send you notifications. Do these ads originate from the lower-right part of the screen? You need to go into Chrome settings, then in the search bar type SITE SETTINGS. Somewhere in the results you should get a PERMISSIONS section, from there click on NOTIFICATIONS. From there you should see 2 sections - a list of sites that are allowed to send notifications, and a list of blocked sites (not allowed). Click the 3 dots next to any site in the ALLOWED section and choose BLOCK.

It amazes me that Google hasn't enacted stricter policies for blocking sites from so easily doing this. I get at least 1 or 2 laptops per week into my shop with this exact problem.

I use Chrome on my Mac and have NEVER has this issue....
