I predict they will.

101.1 in Roscommon, whose coverage area is tiny, is joining.

The MacGarb clan are very cheap. If this loses a dime from what they do today, they'll pass. And, people in NW Michigan really don't much care about Detroit. Just look at the lack of state teams live sports broadcasts in our region. No Tigers, no Wings, barely Lions (WLDR is claimed to be the affiliate).

This isn't the first statewide newtork, every other effort has failed.

It could happen, but I won't be surprised if they pass on it.

The Lions are on The Bear, as well as the Ticket stations, Q100, and Hot Country Hits 99.9: https://www.detroitlions.com/schedule/l ... io-network

The Red Wings are listed as being on 106.3 WJML (under the old WWMN calls).

MSU is on 107.5 WCCW, and they were on 92.9 for a couple of years.

Michigan's closest affiliate is 93.7 the Ticket. Q100 also airs them.

Is 106.3 in Traverse City even on the air? I cannot even find a web page for them.

I stopped listening when they discontinued the 24-hour 7 days a week Grateful Dead programming. I honestly forgot the station was there.

I think Chuck Yob's kid owns it. He's in the Caribbean these days.

This is off topic, but since I have a very poor memory....

This Friday night during the 10 o'clock hour,96.3 along with 96.7 are simulcasting all Christmas music.

Looking at the Lite 96.3 Facebook page this appears to be the format both stations will have until Christmas.

Looking at WCDY's Facebook page it appears they now also are playing all Christmas music.107.9 was just an open carrier when I tuned them in during the same hour.

As far as 106.3 goes they along with the 101.1 translator, play a country format during the day called Wine Country radio and still play an all Greatful Dead format during the night.

At least on its stream, 96.7 The Bull is running its normal programming right now. American Country Countdown is on. No Christmas music. Perhaps they are clearing the weekend syndicated programming and only airing Christmas music during local origination dayparts?

Today, Sunday at 10:19,The 96.7 signal is simulcasting 96.3 with Christmas music.

The reason I first posted this is why on Earth would 96.7 flip to Christmas so early.Seems like they may risk loosing listeners to WTCM.

I suspect this is only occurring because WLXT remains on reduced power and is difficult to pick up in the Traverse City area. I'm not so sure a ton of folks will even think of tuning to 96.7 to hear Christmas music.

The Bull's stream is still featuring normal programming (no Christmas music). Even heard a weather break just now (with someone whose mic was turned up far too loud).

Evidently, MacGar decided to put Christmas music on the FM while continuing normal programming on the stream.

MacDonald Garber seems to be a smart radio operator.

The only reasons l can see at the moment that 96.7 The Bull has flipped to all Christmas music,so early ,at the moment is ...

Maybe a format switch after Christmas possibly simulcasting 96.3 again full time.Or eventually teaming up with 106.7 or WKHQ.

They want to get the Christmas format into Southern Grand Traverse County.

They want to go head to head with WCDY, which I believe now is all Christmas,in the Cadillac area.

Not sure if Cadillac is a strong revenue source for four commercial signals,93.7,96.7,107.1,107.9,in which none have a strong signal throughout the grater Grand Traverse area.

Country is almost certainly the most popular music format in Wexford County. In my opinion, it would be foolish to abandon that and hand the entire country audience to WTCM.

This move is all about giving improved access to Lite 96's Christmas music programming to Traverse City while 96.3 remains at greatly reduced power.

The Bull's social media pages state 96.7 will be returning to Country in early January. The simulcast will only last through the Christmas music season. Their air staff is still there, and normal programming continues on The Bull's stream.
