Sunday GB Church Tragedy?

How was the coverage from local media? WXYZ seems to dominate news results in search. On websites from local news, there isn’t nearly the coverage Detroit provided for Flint/National News. Unless I’ve missed something?

5, 12, 25 all dropped the ball on that. 2 and 7 and even 62 had more coverage than the Flint ones. It's easy to see that the Flint stations don't have anyone staffed as there was only a crawl on 25 and 66, with the other stations not having any mention of the Grand Blanc shooting. 2 was live all day and all night on their Fox Local app and 7 was live on air and on their app up to 4PM. 66 ran the 5PM press conference. Terry Camp was streaming it from his phone on social media. Flint was very disappointing. Even Dave Bondy was there by the shooter's residence.

Absolutely awful; I relied on the Detroit stations and Free Press for up to date information. I was very annoyed when 12 mentioned that they would have a press conference on their live stream, and then said live stream was just a replay of Good Morning Mid-Michigan.

Not impressed at all. WNEM was late breaking in with meteorologist Diane Phillips live on air sometime after 1:00pm. Nothing on WEYI/WSMH. WJRT has been broadcasting without sound on ATSC 3.0 for the past week or so, I didn't bother looking there.

WJBK and WXYZ were on top of it.

When we consider the FCC is open to ending ownership caps in various parts of our industry to “help consumers,” you have to wonder how the enterprises that can’t cover intense emergency situations, would better cover those situations with even more properties they seemingly can’t manage (staff, operate with service to their city of license, etc).

10 years ago, mid-Michigan entities would have understood the assignment. So disappointing.

Very telling that the coverage on the ABC network news came from WXYZ, not WJRT. I didn't even see so much as a screen crawl on 5 or 12.

WXYZ went wall to wall with live coverage for many hours on Sunday.

Despite the lack of coverage (I also got most of my information from 2), after Terry Camp got there, I don't think he took a break at all.

He appeared to be exhausted on the 11pm news Sunday.
