Michael Martin departs Fox17a

Longtime Fox17 reporter (and most recently, 4pm anchor) Michael Martin has announced his departure from Fox17. Today was his last day, No word where he is going next. From the fact the station posted a farewell story, it sounds like he left voluntarily and was not a victim of the recent swinging of the budget axe by parent company Scripps.

All the best Michael Martin I liked a lot of his local reports as a reporter on the street I didn't know Michael was the anchor of the 4PM news. Since I don't watch FOX17 at 4PM, I hope Scripps doesn't bring that anchorless news to GR.

I’ll never understand why the good ones leave / get cut while Elliot Grandia is still there… I know he’s a local Rockford boy, but damn he’s awful!
