I'd be a hypocrite if I got mad about this. I do the same thing to make fun of the kids when they won't fucking sleep 😆

That's pretty funny...
283,000,000 Americans didn't vote for Trump.

I haven't seen a U of M athlete rip a line like that since the Ed Martin party days.

Hopefully this guy won't follow in the illustrious UM footsteps of Steve Howe.

I wonder if downloading nudes was an added bonus for Weiss while hacking into email and social media accounts to gain recruiting and game day intelligence from prospective recruits and opponents.

If these charges are true, he's a creepy and disgusting man who deserves incarceration.

Since he hacked into other school's athletic directors and trainers accounts, the NCAA absolutely needs to investigate. When he is in court and the indictment is read into public record, we're going to find out which AD's accounts he hacked into, but you can bet the house that every athletic director in the conference had their accounts hacked by Weiss. This absolutely just became an NCAA issue now.

The federal indictment alleges Weiss gained illegal access to a database of student-athletes at more than 100 colleges and universities that was maintained by a third-party company. Weiss is accused of downloading personal information and medical data of more than 150,000 athletes and using that information to obtain access to the social media, email and cloud storage accounts of more than 3,000 athletes and download personal intimate digital photographs and videos "that were never intended to be shared beyond intimate partners," federal prosecutors said Thursday.
I'd love to know the identity of the third party company in question. Did Weiss have help from someone on the inside, or did he mastermind this on his own?

The timing in question is 2015-2023, most of the time when he was working for the Ravens, so leave your fan fiction at the door.

Weiss is a fucking despicable predator who deserves the prison time coming his way.

The Ravens, a team coached by John Harbaugh. Was also a grad assistant at Stanford during part of Jim Harbaugh's tenure. Happened to come back over to Michigan just before Connor Stallions came on board as an "analyst". Dude had access to thousands of athletes' communications, including most certainly rival players as well as players being recruited. Not a stretch to wonder if that fit into the Harbaugh surveillance plan, with the naked college girl pics being gravy for him.

That third party vendor has some serious explaining to do.

One person (which means a single or minimal number of IP addresses) accessing multiple accounts and downloading gobloads of data didn't get flagged by their IT security?

Kudos to the U-M IT people that figured it out and nailed the SOB.

If I were that 3rd party vendor, I'd be getting ready for a whole bunch of civil liability.

Interesting note from the Michigan beat writer from the time…

“Shouldn't be understated how much John Harbaugh went to bat for this guy and how quickly Jim Harbaugh hired him without so much as asking a single question to anyone about him outside of his brother.”
