More staff cuts at Audacy
“Ladies and Gentleman live from the studio in my pajamas” too tough for her? I haven’t listened in a while was she doing anything beyond traffic?ChrisWL1980 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 06, 2025 7:06 pm Radioinsight is reporting Aricka resigned, because she's been forced to work from home ever since the pandemic hit.
Well, it sure seems like working from home is really cool -- at first. Especially if you have little ones at home or your commute is an absolute nightmare and it is nice that when there is awful weather you have the option, but after a little while, maybe 4-6 weeks it gets really boring and lonely and you don't feel like you're a part of things. Not if you have to do it every day. I like a good work/life balance and I like the ability to sometimes stay put (lets say you have a dentist appointment that day..), but as a permanent set up, it kind of sucks after awhile.ChrisWL1980 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 06, 2025 7:06 pm Radioinsight is reporting Aricka resigned, because she's been forced to work from home ever since the pandemic hit.
So the lack of camaraderie could drive one to drink basically.riggs wrote: ↑Thu Mar 06, 2025 7:29 pmWell, it sure seems like working from home is really cool -- at first. As far as Metro Detroit and the commute around here. It may seem tedious until you go live in another city. It's WAY better here than Chicago, DC, Los Angeles, Dallas, Boston, Philly and surprisingly Pittsburgh. Chicago and DC are the worst and NYC - you really have no reason to ever drive in Manhattan, you'll just be wasting time, energy and a fortune in parking fees. Park in Jersey - take the trains over. In NYC, at least Manhattan, mass transit will get you within 4 blocks of anywhere you need to go. Toronto's mass transit is fantastic. My buddy works at the Air Canada Center, there's a stop right there and another stop a block from his house. He puts gas in his car once every 4 months. Half the time he starts his car it's only to make sure the battery doesn't die from atrophy.
And the idea that people are less productive. it depends on the kind of work they have and how they are motivated. I worked from home in another industry quite a bit and I was very very productive (and saved a bundle on gas money), but it got depressing. Fewer distractions were good for productivity but fewer distractions were not good for mental health.

I am unhappy that on-air jobs are becoming a scarce commodity, but as a national voice tracker, he was mediocre.Chrocket87 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 07, 2025 12:59 am MW will be pleased to know that Kevan Kenney seems to be off of 98.7, as I didn’t hear him tonight and he’s been scrubbed from the Alt 98.7 webpage and all of the Audacy Alts pages save for his show on KROQ.
My guess is Audacy Alts are going jockless in evenings going forward.
Edit to confirm: Kenney has been let go from Audacy.
It’s good to hear you didn’t get an email or phone call or something giving you bad news. Own terms is way better.

I suppose that’s the rub… they send you working from home AND make the pay lousy.Radioaricka wrote: ↑Tue Mar 18, 2025 5:58 pmI didn't applying to VT from home. Are you still VTing for Sunny 97.7/107.7 in Midland? I rather enjoy the direction that station's music has taken.
