I like the changes, for the most part.
The time and temp bug should have a dark background behind it or the text itself should have a dark outline around it. That is my only complaint. That white text is nearly impossible to read during bright scenes.

The teaser headlines in the show intro and coming up segments at the other Graham stations looked like they were done by 6th graders. It was just words on screen. The ones 4 is using look a little better but the half white half blue is a hard no. This comes with new music at least it did everywhere else. 4 appears to still have the same music.
On a side note whoever wrote in the 5pm intro that Darnell Blackburn was a “big gun” called in to give traffic advice on the 696 closure deserves to be kicked out of there. He sucks.

All the reports I saw on the 696 closure across various newscasts on multiple channels today were poorly done.
Why were there no live shots from the area between M-10 and Orchard Lake, the most likely area to suffer from backups?
Why were no travel times on eastbound 696 from I-275 to M-10 given?
Impromptu interviews with motorists asking what they think about the project is not newsworthy.

Both 12 Mile and Orchard Lake will be under construction this year.
Eastbound 12 Mile will be closed from Middlebelt to Inkster.
I'll manage with the traffic okay. I usually go more north-south in the effected area

The way the logo and lower third disappear whenever they switch from the story to the reporters name is atrocious. There seem to be two different ways it can happen one of which doesn’t involve the whole thing flashing on and off the screen.
I agree the time and temp needs a background to be seen easily. Preferably a black background. The way it looks is straight out of 1995. If I’m not mistaken early attempts at time and temp on screen were just numbers floating there somewhere.
Either Kim Adams isn’t very good at working the weather graphic touch thingy or it’s a lousy system… menus were staying open (that we see a menu open is silly) and when she would go to touch something the selection was jumping all over the place.

Hand tracking can be very finicky if it isn’t calibrated properly, at least to my understanding. You have to do it just right or else it goes haywire.
Someone from Baron might need to check it out, but I’ve seen stations in different markets using the same system with hand tracking enabled, and it works flawlessly.

Rexroth would do it on 7 but there were never any menus or anything on screen… he sometimes had to stick his hand up there a couple times to get it to read it. Maybe there are multiple systems out there?
