If not, why not? I know there used to be. With the increasing preponderance of the fairer sex in broadcasting I find this to be, uh, peculiar. I realize folks are mostly anonymous here, but it's often easy to sense a feminine voice in one's writing and context. I haven't sensed this anywhere on this board in quite a while. Is it just me?

There were a few over the years.....Bama Girl comes to mind, and she had an interesting insight into broadcasting from an outsider's perspective. She's long (perhaps a decade) gone.

Frankly, I think there is WAY too much pettiness, name-calling, political rhetoric, insults, and the like going on to hold the interest or even tolerance from a female listener perspective or those actually drawing a broadcast paycheck. The Buzzboard of the past (the long past) had a great deal of real-live (ahem, I hate this word) 'talent'....not so much anymore. Same reason....male or female. Who wants to muddle through all that chaff for what is now just a little bit of real news or inside information?

I used to hear the board and it's content discussed by client staff in a very respectful light. Now, it seems to never come up anymore, and once or twice when I mentioned it, the response was very negative.

When I first began trolling around here 10 years ago, I seem to remember a female whose screen name was "Love Pink" who was a regular poster at the time, but she's been gone for a long while.

I just now tried to search on that name but there's no record of her. All her posts might have disappeared in the big site crash.

She was the life partner of a Michigan operator who went under. They are in Colorado now.

This community doesn't seem very respectful of women, and especially very visible women or women leaders who aren't on the board to defend themselves. Some of the threads, sheesh.

I remember Mary Riley and Church Lady. They were both fun. There was another who called herself mscrankyangel. Her day job was operating a carousel at some amusement park.
