Noticed her bio is gone from the website. Did she leave 4?

This past Sunday, WDIV announced Jason Colthorp would be taking over as host of Flashpoint:

McDonald indicated she was "only holding down the fort." Whether that was in fact the original plan - who knows.

She filled in often on Flashpoint when Devin was away and when he introduced her on the December 15th episode beginning at 18:55 it didn't sound like it was just to hold down the fort but who knows..

It is very possible she told a fib to the audience with her "just holding down the fort" remark.

I wonder if she accepted an early retirement buyout?

That would seem odd considering she’s barely been there in then first place.

She mostly was used on Local 4+ in recent years.

My point was she was there for only 2 years or slightly more having joined the station in the fall of 2022. That sounds more like a contract ran out to me. She was here today and gone tomorrow from any iteration of 4. Local 4+ is where they used her initially with fill in anchoring as needed. It was kind of a waste really. If they were gonna have her around it should have been on the main channel from the start. Goofy attempts to get more of peoples money by streaming is another story obviously.

I agree that this could be a matter of an expiring contract not being renewed.

Still have a soft spot for her in my heart, when Jamie Samuelson passed, it left a deep emotional hole in that family....

That's a shame. No one is interested in professional journalists anymore.

Sorry to see her go. I thought she did a decent job taking over for Devin. I wish her good luck in her future endeavors.

Never really enjoyed her. It may sound weird, but she always looked like she had poor hygiene to me.

She did a great job on her "What's In That Garage" which was mostly on Local 4 Plus but occasionally on channel 4. She really knew her stuff and had a great personality for that show. I wish her well
