John Records Landecker - 1968

Unread post by GrahamWellington »

Seeing how quiet this section is, owing to the fact that never in Lansing radio and TV history has the market ever been so balanced with quality, original programming coupled with top local talent, thought I would share this aircheck I found of John Records Landecker. It is from 1968 when he was with WILS for a cup of coffee.

Can you imagine a Lansing radio station nowadays sounding this fast paced and energetic? This clip and related music is 56 years old yet sounds fresher than anything on any station in town today.

That's the whitest thing I've heard this month. You think this is fresh and contemporary?

It's a great liner package for its day but this vibe is for a generation the really no longer has economic value.

Have you listened to Lansing radio in the last decade? Yes, I dare say this sounds fresh and original compared to what is aired today. From a format, package, and talent standpoint.

It's lacking any urban vibes.

Again, I love PAMS, but not today...
