TROY (WWJ) — A Detroit woman is in trouble with the law after Troy police caught her driving drunk with two flat tires and an open bottle of tequila in her car.
Just before 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 24 Troy police officers did a welfare check on the driver of a 2005 Chevy Malibu in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven store near Wattles and Crooks Roads.
When they spoke to the 46-year-old woman they noticed her speech was slurred, her eyes were bloodshot and glassy and she smelled like alcohol.
Officers also spotted an open bottle of tequila in the car and realized the front and back tires on the passenger side were flat.
The woman, whose name has not been released, failed multiple field sobriety tests and blew a .231% BAC on a preliminary breath test.
She was taken to the Troy Police Lock-Up, where she refused to take another breath test, but had her blood drawn to determine her BAC.
The case was turned over to the Troy Detective Bureau to determine what charges she will face.
