No Disney ESPN and ABC on Direct Tv...broadcast fees and contract issue

Since you pooed this story across the Buzzboard like a sick seagull flying over a parking lot, dropping it in multiple forums, please let me say here that there is definitely ONE forum that is specific to this type of conversation. It's not particularly offensive, just tiresome.

Why don't people refuse to be held hostage by cable and satellite companies, for something that is free over the air?

Buy an Antenna.

The only Disney channels that an antenna can pick up are the ABC affiliates to my knowledge, and even that can be very limited with the current ATSC standards.
