Does anyone doubt that Trump would carry out his promise to be a dictator on day 1?

Unread post by Matt »

Lose an election? COMPLETELY undermine the electoral process in the country, to the point where you encourage your supporters to stop the count and don't discourage them from hanging your VP.

Lose a court case and become a felon? COMPLETELY undermine the judicial system in the country. Does anyone think these jurors won't need to have swivel neck after this case?

Smart people can't and don't support this pathetic piece of white trash.

He’ll try to have the judge executed should he regain power. Try and stop him.

The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.

Happy trails to Bail Bonds. The account is now as relevant as Bill Bonds as I predicted.

If someone tells you they want to engage in criminal or treasonous behavior, it's wisest to believe them.

He'll probably have both houses of Congress, and the Supreme Court behind him. He's going to take revenge on everybody who said the slightest thing wronging him. He will destroy this country.

Let's say for the sake of argument that your premise is true. Isn't that kind of your side's fault for not picking winning candidates? I mean, if that were indeed true, then the Electoral College should look something like Reagan's 1984 win (except for a Democrat) and you should have no problem holding onto the Senate and taking back the House.

The reason that won't happen is that a significant number of Americans don't buy into your premise. And the reason for THAT is more complicated than the suggestion that Trump's followers constitute a cult. That may be accurate for half of his voters (just as how half of Democrats would vote for a socialist dictator), but what about the other half?

Yes and no. I agree completely Biden is an awful candidate. But as far as the Senate is concerned, there are more Dem held seats up for grabs this year than GOPs. The House is such a freak show, anything could happen.

Trump really has been an anchor on your party though. He and he alone lost the the Senate in that Georgia runoff. Other key races as well.

The fact that the GOP could have, SHOULD HAVE been done with him after January 7th 2021 is what makes me so sick. I would think it would make a true Republican much more ill. But that party is essentially gone and beholden to the cult.

You'll get no argument from me that Trump and Trump alone cost Republicans those Georgia Senate seats. And could Republicans be in better shape if they had dumped Trump in 2021? Maybe. Maybe not. We have no idea who their candidate would have been.

But the "cult" theory still doesn't explain all the luke-warm Trump voters that will show up.

That you *think* will show up. The rest of us with clear sight are not seeing that.
