Tesla strikes again

Unread post by zzand »

The Tesla Cybertruck, a truck so rugged it can only be defeated by a car wash, was reportedly hit with a stop-sale recently because problems with its accelerator kept causing unintended acceleration issues. Don’t worry, though, just because a Cybertruck could attack at any time doesn’t mean it necessarily will. Also, TechCrunch reports that Tesla has now recalled every Cybertruck ever delivered to address the problem with its 7,000-pound trucks unintentionally accelerating.

Since it began delivering Cybertrucks to customers in late November of last year, Tesla has apparently built 3,878 Cybertrucks, all of which are affected by the recall. Believe it or not, though, this isn’t the first time there’s been a recall on the Cybertruck. Despite basically beginning production in December, the Cybertruck was included in a recall in January due to it and other Tesla models displaying an incorrect font size for the Brake, Park, and Antilock Brake System warning lights on the dash.

Tesla shares have lost 40 percent of their value year to date.
Let's not be biased. Ford is winning the recall race by a mile... Over 50 on the Bronco alone since introduction. Here's last week's recall.

DETROIT (AP) — Ford is recalling nearly 43,000 small SUVs because gasoline can leak from the fuel injectors onto hot engine surfaces, increasing the risk of fires. But the recall remedy does not include repairing the fuel leaks.

Maybe now isn't the right time to solicit Elon's payout...
DETROIT (AP) — Tesla is asking shareholders to restore a $56 billion pay package for CEO Elon Musk that was rejected by a Delaware judge this year, and to shift the company’s corporate home to Texas.

The changes, to be voted on by stockholders at a June 13 annual meeting, could be a tougher sell than when it was first approved in 2018. The Austin, Texas, electric vehicle maker is struggling with falling global sales, slowing electric vehicle demand, an aging model lineup and a stock price that has tumbled 37% so far this year
And this happened... Why do I get the feeling that he knows about some of the ghosts in the Cybertruck?
Drew Baglino, Tesla's senior vice president of powertrain and electrical engineering, announced on Monday that he'd left the company, becoming the latest major executive to depart Elon Musk's EV giant after the chief financial officer stepped down in August. The move came as Tesla announced sweeping job cuts.

I strongly question the legality of a contract like that… Elon Musk is an asshole.
Donald Trump… In your guts you know he’s nuts.

I’ve seen 3 of these “trucks” in the past week - one driving into my town and 2 parked outside casinos in Vegas (one being given away by a casino group, the other just parked.

These vehicles are a complete joke when seen in person. They’re hideous to look at and can’t haul anything of substance. It’s a $100k “look at me” vehicle. Considering the quality issues with Tesla, I certainly wouldn’t want to be stuck with one

Not to drive, but if you can find a deal on one and have the time and space for storage, it may be something to hold onto - in a DMC-12 sort of way.
