Listening to Dickerson as I type this. He keeps mentioning the "art of pitching". Bobby Scales does too. Will they get to the point of repeating each other and eating on the air?

What a scary thought—It wasn't just Price, it's a scripted part of the broadcast, like the inane non-sports discussions on 97.1

On a more positive note, Jason Benetti is absolutely phenomenal. Only two games in and I’d dare say he’s the best TV lead the Tigers have ever had.

I agree. He's the real deal.

A longtime personal pet peeve has been the indiscriminate, inappropriate, use of the saying, "No problem." Then, as part of discovery in a lawsuit brought by the pilot of the private plane owned by the Abercrombie & Fitch chief executive, it was disclosed that, as specifically addressed in a manual,
[w]hen [the boss], [his partner], or a guest make a request, respond by saying 'No Problem'. This should be used in place of phrases like, 'Sure' or 'Just a minute'," the document states[.]
I realized then the institutionalized forces I was arrayed against.

In the restaurants I visit, the youngest waitresses have replaced the annoying "no problem" with the equally annoying "of course."

It will be a real shock when Benetti has to do a national broadcast and is replaced by Dickerson. I heard a replay of Dickerson's call on that big double play in the seventh inning yesterday and he sounded like his head was about to explode.

Yes, I heard Dickerson do it yesterday, and immediately thought of Ron.

My favorite thing to do is reply "Yes I know" when some young waitress says "You're fine".

This thread is starting to give off a real “old retired dudes chatting at their weekly Tuesday morning donut shop meeting” vibe.

What's there to do now that Ron is dead?

Yes, but it also honored the Buzzboard tradition of veering completely away from the title topic in less than one page.
