WANE 15 5PM News Then Inside Edition
WANE 15 5PM News Then Inside Edition
I've been watching WANE 15 / Fort Wayne, IN. They are not the only station that does this but I have noticed there is a 5pm newscast, then comes on Inside Edition or other program, then the 6 o'clock news. My question is, why don't they just do the 5pm news for the extra half hour rather going to another 30 program? Is it money? Staffing issues?
Woe to you, oh earth and sea
For the Devil sends the beast with wrath
Because he knows the time is short
Let him who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast
For it is a human number
Its number is six hundred and sixty-six

Was not uncommon in the late 1980s and 1990s for a station to have 5PM news, then a syndicated program, then 6PM news.

We're a long time off from the late 1980s and 1990s, Einstein.

Not sure such a snarky response was needed, but rugrats is right. This isn't unprecedented. Rare nowadays, but not unprecedented.
The small NBC affiliate in Zanesville, WHIZ does this. They definitely don't have the staffing for different crews for all their newscasts.
It could very well be a staffing issue. Have your news at 5, take 30 minutes to update, polish off the 6 p.m. broadcast, etc. then go.
