Just saw where WLDR and all it's sister stations turned in in silence STA's with the FCC. Am I late to the game or are these new forms turned in?

They were all silenced just prior to the big northern Michigan summer tourism season. Brilliant, huh? Haven't really paid attention since then.

It's not the first time these stations have been turned off either just in time for summer, or even more baffling, in the middle of summer.

101.9 on the other hand ought to be a valuable stick. The fact that once great station is now an after thought is so disappointing.
With Benzie County out of the market, I think 92.3 and 99.3 would no longer count against the market caps.

On a side note, I (and a lot of people) am so glad that he was outbid for 99.9 Custer (WHCH), which might be more popular than the incumbent local country station 94.9 the Big Dog less than six months after coming on.

There are ways to improve some of these outlier facilities, given someone with the resources and motivation to do so. Nothing like the late David Schaberg's three dimensional chess game. Good ideas, on paper, but simpler is better, and simpler is possible.

Henderson should have taken Yobbs cue and went all Phish.

I have now had more than 10 friends tell me about 106.3. The grateful dead station is pulling people back to radio and it's cracking me up.
