Freep reporting the Tigers have hired Jason Benetti as their new TV voice. A terrific (and totally unexpected) hire.

I'm beyond shocked they got him. He is one of the best and now they have their work cut out for them getting a colour guy who can keep up.

"Leaving the Chicago White Sox to come here. A surprise indeed!"

The White Sox, as a franchise, is in freefall. They will have a hard time getting any one of quality to go there. More than likely a youngster looking for his first major league job. Cheap and easy. Jason is a gem, you will love him.

Shep has been filling in for Tom Jordan, on WJR.

I’ll have to tune in to hear how mediocre Shep is at talk radio. Never thought that much of him on WDFN.

Benetti is an interesting hire. Time will tell.

I didn't see that one coming great hire by the Tigers getting Jason Benetti, I thought they go the cheap rout and hire from within.

Love Benetti! Easily one of the 2 or 3 best in baseball. He makes watching games enjoyable even when the game itself isn’t a good one.

Would love to see him teamed up with Cam Maybin.

According to this poll, the Tigers are replacing someone on the worst broadcasting team in baseball with someone on the sixth best.

Hearing Benetti on a call reminds me of Josh Lewin who I really enjoyed. Good hire.
