JML "Class Action" jingles - 1979-80
Re: JML "Class Action" jingles - 1979-80
These jingles need more context. This is the ultimate scoped presentation. Needs DJs talking and at least the intros and outros of songs.

There's some JML on this aircheck from right around that era (the description says May 1979 but I think some of the material on this check goes as far back as '77 and perhaps up to the summer/fall of '79).

Need that for what? Are you looking to buy a 40 year old jingle package? This isn't supposed to be an air check. I just posted this for those of us who heard these jingles originally, and remember what is arguably the greatest period in Northern Michigan radio. I think everyone who listened to JML during this time remembers the context well enough. It's just cool to hear them again.
I'll give you a couple of clues, though. These were used exclusively when coming out of commercials, and no DJ's spoke at that point. Commercial-Jingle-Song.

I forgot to mention --- There are lots of JML air checks on youtube from this era if you'd like to hear them.

Good memories indeed. When those were replaced by the "whispers" it was a bad day on Click Road, let me say that. We natives were not happy.

I was curious what the origin of the road name "Click" was.
It did occur to me that maybe a telegraph line went along it years ago, as in the noise telegraph receivers make. There is of course Telegraph Rd.
But I looked and Click is indeed a surname, perhaps the surname of the owners of the land on the road in the area 100 or more years ago.

Yeah, it wasn't from Nov of 1979 on because Kara Gallagher is who I replaced on overnights at that time.ChrisWL1980 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 03, 2022 5:35 pm There's some JML on this aircheck from right around that era (the description says May 1979 but I think some of the material on this check goes as far back as '77 and perhaps up to the summer/fall of '79).
