Gotta say, I’ve been streaming Fox Weather since it launched, and it’s impressive. It actually shows weather. What a concept. Makes me wonder when The Weather Channel will get back to it.
I wonder if Fox will ever get around to localizing it. Would be nice…

I don't get why Weather scan was dumped 12 years ago.

Comcast claimed that “nobody watched it” when they dumped it in 2017. Weird, everyone I spoke to about it when it happened was pissed.
I can say that using ratings for something like Weatherscan is nonsensical, since nobody is sitting there for hours on end watching it. You watch it for 5-10 minutes when you need the weather. Why don’t the bean counters get that?

For me, they shit canned in 2010. Or maybe I am thinking of WXYZ weather which was 7.4.

7.3 was shitcanned in 2010; that might’ve been what you were thinking about. That pissed me off too…

I don't see the fuss. Watching it now, and all it plays is radar for Florida, future temps for S Florida, hurricane/cyclone data, and nothing else. Yes, it is midnight, but it is annoying to see the screen cycle through for 10 minutes and play the same damn suspenseful music. No travel weather, "local scan", or meteorologists at all. Just same thing over and over.
Don't get me wrong, I can understand a 5 minute hurricane/tropical update; this is like sensationalized terror porn. But then again, that's what Faux News does best.

Pretty cool that it just showed up. I did not have to reconfigure anything.

So I tried watching it last night while it was pouring rain, hoping to see a local radar. None to be had.
They were more worried about showing the heat wave in the south and the storms near Cleveland and Columbus.
I liked Weatherscan (I think that was the name) that Comcast carried a few years back. That was local and useful. I wasn't too impressed by this current offering.

You'd think they could actually cooperate with the local station and have cut-in segments that were local-only. They could also have an overlay in the corner somewhere with local radar that stayed up all the time.

I watch it on Tubi. It's pretty decent the few times I've watched it.

Too much work.

It seems that every time I tune across it, that it is giving me the weather for the deep south or the west coast.
I need the weather for the local area.

Considering their audience is mostly southern, this shouldn’t be a surprise.
