In today's release of Detroit's February 2021 Nielsen Ratings book, ALT 98.7 has dropped to a new low of only a 1.6 market share. Debbie Kenyon and Tim Roberts, YOU are going to have to give CEO David Field's people the news that the Alternative format DOES NOT WORK in the Detroit market. Im surprised that 12,000 people actually listen to 1130,and 33,000 listen to 1270, Are they sure it wasnt they didnt misread it as 12 people and 33 people listen to those 2 colossal failures.

This is a real disappointment, the fact that this is supposed to pacify former 89x is totally misguided. Alt sounds like a cross between The old Alt 106.7 and what AMP radio was. In my eyes, this isn't alternative rock or what I think of, when I think of that.

The station is totally canned and has no personality. I know it's not 1997 anymore but at least have a little heart, that's one thing I enjoyed with 105.1 The Edge, The early days of 89x, and Planet 96.3. The Personality's of the station really made it what it was. The VT DJ's give me the impression they know nothing about the music they are playing.

It would be nice to hear a bit more 90s material thrown in, there is next to none. I will say one good thing, at least they don't play: Queen "Another bites the dust" " We will rock you" . I think Alt 106.7's last book was like a 1.4.

If things stay as they are, this station is done by fall.

It could be worse:
Alt in San Francisco (which is on a slightly grandfathered Class B signal) is losing to two AMs with no FM presence, three San Jose-based Class B FMs that don't put a 60dBu over the northern half of the metro area, and is tied with a San Jose-based Class A FM that is short-spaced to a co-channel on the northern end of the metro area and is also co-channel to a translator in San Francisco proper

Why is Entercom such a mess?

Hubbard's KPNT in St Louis just hit an all time ratings record. A massive 8.3 share. There are plenty of successful Alternative stations around the country. Why is it so hard for Entercom to run good successful stations? They ruined all the Alternative stations they got from CBS Radio.

This is the way to go and rename it from a losing moniker ALT which already failed on 106.7 to 98X .......

It's fucking stupid. I don't understand why this is so difficult. Not only is nobody listening to this garbage, I'm in contact with people in OTHER MARKETS who hate this shit. It's like opening a Burger King and only serving liver and onions.

But hey, let's sit around and have meetings about why nobody cares about radio anymore. Why everyone goes to satellite or streaming. DURRRRRRRRRRRR.

Somebody tell me when they get better. I flipped my clock radio alarm to WRIF. Not because I like Dave and Chuck the Freak, but it's the only thing worth listening to in the morning on terrestrial radio. Pathetic.

I agree. It's nice to have a true alternative to the better varieties of the same crap everyone else is playing.

How did the Breeze rate in comparison?

It fluctuated from mid 3's to high 2's. It might of gotten close to a 4 once. It was doing leaps and bounds ahead of ALT. My own view is, bring The Breeze back.
