She should be able to find a job anywhere, not sure if her daughter would come with her to another state.

Maybe she can end her career at CBS Detroit and join Sandra Ali in the mornings, with her act!!

The court may frown on taking her daughter away from her Dad, especially if they have joint custody or alternating weekend visits.

Of course, there are always two sides to every story. Both Roop and Taryn have egos the size of Texas.
But when it comes down to it- Roop does work longer hours and harder. He is more engaged in the newscasts and does set up interviews and so forth. Taryn is known for old style evening anchor. She would come in and read the news. She would leave and take a 2-3 hour dinner break so I am sure they felt that she could easily do some work on Let It Rip if she actually worked 8 hours a day. Nice of her to name produces, EPs and all of the leadership. Those are all the same people that will have a list of incidents where Taryn has screamed at them and has been unprofessional. Yes, Fox Two has had a history of letting things slide for years but I don't think it has that much to do with men vs women. I think it has more to do with today's society. People are no longer putting up with that type of behavior of being screamed at in a newsroom. Fox 2 is also not putting up with it anymore. There have been a lot more suspensions and firings in the past couple years than ever before. I think that is just the direction it is going now. Not to mention, Taryn also has reportedly showed up to high - on pain meds and has been talked to about that.
Bottom line, when new management comes in, there is always a chance you aren't going to get along and Roop is a much bigger kiss ass than Taryn was.
Taryn was toxic as hell . I hope she is prepared for it all to come out in the lawsuit.

Fired Fox 2 Anchor Taryn Asher Files Sex Discrimination Lawsuit Against Station; Criticizes Management and Roop Raj
https://deadlinedetroit.com/articles/34 ... d_roop_raj
The suit alleges Fox 2:
- Refused to provide Asher with the same schedule accommodations that it provided to her counterpart Roop Raj.
- Assigned Asher fewer guest interviews than Raj.
- Excluded Asher from communications related to guest-segment interviews and the November 2025 election coverage.
- Failed and refused to ensure that she received equal treatment.
- Summarily dismissed and refused to meaningfully investigate Asher's complaints of disparate treatment and discrimination based on sex.
- Permitted Asher's co-anchor Raj to circumvent and undermine Asher's employment responsibilities.
- Terminated Asher's employment based on clearly erroneous allegations of conduct that, even if true, are substantially less severe than conduct of male workers, including in management.
I downloaded the court filing. Maybe she will finally be removed from the website soon ("June 2026") although Rob Wolcheck is still listed as well a couple of months after his retirement. They also mentioned Roop's DUI and the new GM's DWI in the filing.
"FOX has since informed ASHER that her employment with FOX will end in June 2026 and that FOX will not renew ASHER’s employment agreement with FOX."

She wont work in news again. Suing a station is a career ender. No matter the merit or not.
I wish her and roop the best. They are both talented decent people.

Public relations / corporate communications seems to be the career change of choice for most departing on-air journalists & news anchors these days.
Who can blame them? Job stability is better, the job is potentially less stressful, and pay is as good or better than broadcast journalism.

Taryn has been removed from the Fox 2 website though Rob Wolcheck remains.

Here's the thing most here may not realize.
The general public really could care less who is reporting the news.
If someone goes on vacation, and the others don't mention it, virtually none of the viewers notice they are gone.
"Just tell us the news, weather and sports. We don't care who it is telling us". 10, 20 years ago that wasn't the case. Now it is.
Yeah Andrew Anchor takes a week off and like six people call the station and ask "Where's Andrew?".
Out of about 170 thousand (the average nightly view for TV news here in Detroit).
Unfortunately some in front of the camera get the big head because people recognize them out in the wild.
But like I said, if they took a week off and their on-air colleagues didn't mention it, no viewers would notice. All kidding aside.

Agreed. It’s when the anchor or host is so over the top obnoxious like most are on Fox 2 that it distracts from what they’re reporting.

Yes, for starters they need to get rid of that Douchebag Roop Raj next would be Robin Murdoch and finally Brandon Hudson.
