Re: Ron Cameron
So I kind of dozed off a bit during the final hour, the smooth sound of R sizzle can do that. It appears I did not miss much, on to next week!
Re: Ron Cameron
I only heard the first 45 minutes of the show. Did the Gabe Kapler situation come up at all?

Re: Ron Cameron
Historic Images has three photos of Ron in the early 80's. At a price of $9.00 per photograph, more aspects of Mr. Cameron's life are available.
1. With an earliest date of 1981 this was probably taken in Ron's waning days at WXYZ-AM: https://outlet.historicimages.com/produ ... 0155&_ss=r
2. Dated September 9, 1981 the original photo of Ron and one of his first, if not very first restaurants:https://outlet.historicimages.com/produ ... 0155&_ss=r
3. A 1983 photograph later used as a thumbnail that accompanied a news article previously shown:https://outlet.historicimages.com/produ ... 0155&_ss=r

Re: Ron Cameron
Thanks. The back of Picture 1 shows a date of 10/24/80, so it might have been taken earlier. The back of Picture 2 shows strong evidence of being taken on 9/9/81.ShempLives wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 9:13 pm Historic Images has three photos of Ron in the early 80's. I wonder if Mr. Positive has ever seen this video. It sums up Elvis's career as well as any movie.radiofan1974 wrote: ↑Mon May 30, 2022 1:40 pm Went to see Top Gun and in the trailer section saw the preview for the Elvis movie

Re: Ron Cameron
Though this past weekend’s shows didn’t sound like they were high-water marks, still waiting on the podcast to be posted.
Re: Ron Cameron
^ I missed (the not-so oriented to time & space) Ron's 3rd-hour reference to this past weekend having been the Fourth of July holiday, so I want to hear that.
Re: Ron Cameron
While not all of Ron’s cavalcade of low-information callers have internet access, Kurt clearly does, which prompts an enduring question. Does or does he not ever sample the goings-on of the much-mentioned (although NEVER by him) Buzzboard (where he, himself, is such a presence)? And if he doesn’t, how is that even possible for someone whose life is so centered around his multiple weekly appearances on Sports Talk with Ron Cameron, starring Ron Cameron? Either he's so disciplined & focused on his show prep or he has a singular lack of curiosity.
Re: Ron Cameron
So Siz has been a talk show host since 1971 according to Bobbert’s Wiki write up. It seems that his various incarnations of his show would not be continuous. I see a few gaps where he has lived in other states. Did he have shows on the radio at those places? Does he really have the longest running sports talk gab fest known to mankind and does he claim that status or is it really a buzzbored urban legend?
Re: Ron Cameron
Ron Cameron is an Urban Legendary Sports Talk Radio Legend. Ask him...he'll tell you.
Re: Ron Cameron
Ron really does claim that status. But with all the seeming gaps in his resume, years when he doesn't seem to have had a radio show, either here or elsewhere, the Guinness people will have to sort this all out before he can legitimately claim the title.
Re: Ron Cameron
Well at least there are no claims of multiple Pulitzer Prizes garnered by Sports Fans Journal.
Re: Ron Cameron
His continuous work as a talk show host is another myth, along with replacing Dick Purtan at WXYZ.
Of course, I can't be too critical.
