Oof. Looked good for a while for DET, but they squandered way too many opportunities with RISP.

The Trey Sweeney swing on the very first pitch of his AB when bases were loaded, in the 6th inning, with 2 outs annoyed the crap out of me. Sweeney grounded out to end the inning. That was the turning point of the game, in my opinion.

I also thought Vest should've pitched at the very start of the 9th inning; was surprised to see Jobe begin the 9th after pitching all of the 8th.

Let's face it - this Tigers team has great arms but mediocre bats. Too many guys with an OPS below .700.

100%, especially about Vest. You HAD to keep that a one run game. Tomorrow is an off day. Why not start Vest that inning to at least give the Tigers a chance to tie it. A 2 run lead is astronomically different than 1 run at that stage. Hinch fucked up

I was hoping that the Tigers were going to win it and go to the ALCS and didn't have to go back to Celeveland for a deciding game 5 UGH. Happy they got Skubal for the deciding game and hope he can shut the Guardians down on Sat.

Looks like the, uh, Guardians are starting to feel their oats. Hitting a batter with the bases loaded followed by a grand salami on the next pitch? Well, what did you expect.
