I work alone and travel all day, so I stream to keep myself entertained. It could be anything, but I have streamed presidential debates going back to Carter and Reagan. Yes, there have always been the occasional snide remarks. Yes, there has always been passive aggressive commentary. But, even though 98% of what's proposed doesn't pass, there were still issues talked about. And you know what? That doesn't make good soundbites on CNN and Fox. That doesn't create memes. That doesn't get guys on message boards cracking jokes. We want the victory, but don't know what that entails. It's this zero-sum society we live in. It's either all THIS or it's either all THAT. The culture issues are what ooze that anger and scratch that primitive itch. I'll gladly watch the top earners get a larger tax decrease while I struggle so long as the guy that has tampons in boys locker rooms doesn't win. It's insanity at best. But, the reason we have a Donald Trump is because for years, the middle class and working poor were promised the sun, moon and stars, but were handed a lump of dog shit. So now, here we sit, with middle school politics. Wonderful.
