I hope they have the balls to play Sneaker Pimps and Prodigy.

Care to give examples?

98.7 really should have the balls to play Prodigy and Sneaker Pimps. 89X did it back in the day. I have been busy with other stuff today, so I haven't listened to their rotation.

Audacy really does take a half-assed approach to programming 98.7.

The dumbasses who sit (and shit) in NYC truly know next to nothing about Michigan's music scene, don't they?
True. Speaking of Michigan bands, whatever happened to Greta Van Fleet? I was surprised that a 60 year old dude I know was into them. I think the Canadian bands have a greater following here as well because of the past influence of 89X and the River. It bums me out to know we can't enjoy the new music. I know lots of people hated CanCon, but I like it. I will just be here listening to the Tragically Hip.

I've always realized how much 89x actually gave me. I wish I had kept all those burned CDs I got rid of 10 years back. I forgot all the great Candian stuff they gave me. Stuff that nobody else would touch. Now suddenly WRIF wants to stick a Sum 41 song in tertiary and all is supposed to be okay.

I was down in The Parkersburg WV/Marietta Ohio recently, there is this low power station 96.3 The Beet(yes that's how it's spelled) and they were playing 6 underground. Have not heard that one in years.

I own all of the CD's from all the bands referenced: Sneaker Pimps(only 6 Underground because they abandoned the female lead after the album went big), Our Lady Peace(3 cd's), Billy Talent(1 cd), Tragically Hip(2 cd's), and Greta Van Fleet(1). Certainly not Sum 41. They suck. I also really like Crash Parallel who put out the song "Rain Delays" which was heavy in rotation on 93.9. Don't have that CD but wouldn't mind picking it up. I really miss the River and 89X, but especially the River. Yes, they had a tighter playlist, but I liked it.

Also, if you like Sneaker Pimps, I highly recommend DJ Shadow who I discovered on Pandora. It's the same trip hop theme but with a male lead. It has that same angst though.
