62 still has a lot of potential and can grown into the great station it can be. It has to have a great plan, and have a station that can relate to Detroiters. Right now, the newscasts seems suburban and not Detroit. How about some live cams from downtown Detroit? How about an actual set that shows the Detroit skyline?

Is it me, or is Ahmad Bajjey really annoying? He’s talented but he seems to like the camera more than he does reporting the actual weather.

I also think 62 is comparable to 19 in Cleveland. The new kid on the block that everyone likes to pick on and root against, because they are the underdog. For years, WOIO was the lapdog to 3, 5, and 8. In the 1990s and 2000s, their newscasts were a mess and lacked an identity. It took 20 years for 19 to have stability. This is why I know 62 can get me there but it takes time. They got better leadership in there. Now, they need to get rid of the rest of the bad apples, keep the good talent they have, and hire better people.

Different owners, but wasn't that said about WDHO/WNWO? Look how that turned out.

That’s a rather tall order. Can 62 be improved? Sure… does that seem likely? Not really.

I’ve seen miracles happen. The potential is definitely there and from what I’m seeing, there’s hope. I see small improvements thus far but there has to be a lot more.
A LOT more!!!

Don’t you think you’re going a little overboard with your enthusiasm?

Based on detailed description on FTV Live's Patreon of some of the ridiculous things CBS is doing at WCCO-TV in Minneapolis, it is highly likely a sizable portion of the recent headcount deductions at WWJ-TV fall into the budget cut category.

I know she runs her own PR firm at the moment, but would Robin Schwartz ever get back into TV news? She was a terrific anchor at Fox 2 and would be a solid lead women anchor for CBS Detroit it seems like.

Completely different situation. Malrite did a phenomenal job with WNWO, and was a great company to work for. They were headed in the right direction until Raycom bought WNWO, then the slow, agonizing bleed started.

I love CBS Detroit! Seeing the growth from a minor independent station to a CBS owned station over the past 29 years is amazing!
