WZUU and WQXC have been sold!
You are somewhat incorrect concerning WTOU. There is live programming Saturdays from 8am until at least 2pm, if not 4pm, along with Sunday afternoons 1-3.Michigan Media wrote:On the positive side, kudos to Midwest for retaining the on-air staff at WZUU (two people) and WQXC (three people). Before the acquisition, I could only count one live and local weekday personality that was based out of Midwest's Kalamazoo location (WKZO mornings). The other stations are fully automated (WVFM), voice tracked (WZOX) or piped in from Westwood One (WTOU).

It’s been said before, but I am digging the playlist updates. I’ve heard songs that haven’t been one the radio in years.

WZUU's live stream has been nothing but dead air for the past week.

WZUU is streaming on the old Hits 96.5 playlist website: https://wzox.tunegenie.com/.

Just heard WZUU play Rammstein. I'm impressed.
Would be nice if some folks at MWC could get off their asses and fix the streaming URLs. I still need to click "Hits 96.5" in TuneIn to hear WZUU, which makes zero sense. The URL for what should be the WZUU stream is dead air.

Let's see:craigrussell100 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2024 4:02 pm Heres a radical take:
"They" leave everything the same and just continue trudging along. Name me a time when 4 or 5 stations in THE SAME MARKET all made H*** programing changes all at the same time. Go ahead...I'll wait.
Exactly.
-96.5 flipped to Urban AC.
-92.5 flipped to a quasi-Active Rock format.
-95.5 flipped to a Win 98.5 simulcast.
-106.5 remains Jack FM but with a very different playlist than pre-transaction (median song age is now 10+ years younger, nearly all guitar based classic rock has been eliminated, and the station even plays some currents and recurrents now).
I'd say those of us predicting major multi-signal changes were proven correct.

It didn't. Most of the changes occurred within the first several weeks of MWC stepping into control of the stations. Jack FM has had two rounds of major music changes since the sale; the one I described above is the most recent round.
