I wouldn't be upset if ROBERT Costa got the job, either.

Another name that should get some love is Matt Dery. I'd prefer Sean Baligian over Dery, but I think Matt Dery would be a good choice too.

If Baligian is so good, why has he bounced from station to station to station?

What if they hire someone who isn't from Michigan?

Fat Marc Fellhauer is in talks. Only thing holding it up is that he's requiring a full golden-corral-style buffet every morning. That would put his compensation package well above stoney's.

If that dipshit gets hired that will be the end of my listening in the morning.
I dont much like Riger buy I'll take him all day over Fellhauer.

What about Hammer getting the morning show slot to replace Stoney? I know Jennifer Hammond has her duties on Fox 2 that would probably come before anything on radio. But she'd bring a unique perspective and something the station has always lacked, a women who knows and loves sports. As well, she's got prior radio experience having worked on WDFN back in the day. I think any one of Jim Costa, Jennifer Hammond, or Sean Baligian would make a great choice.
Naw, the Hunchback of Notre Dame can stay away

Keep her away from the ham sandwiches.
Imagine if they paired her and Farc Fellhauer up. They'd have to reinforce the floorboards.

The lousy callers will still be around regardless of who is hosting. Thats the number one thing that sucks with 97.1.

Yes indeed. I'll listen until, like Valenti says, they "Go the the people". Then it's preset pushing time.
I'm sure somebody at 97.1 reads this thread so this is for you:
Cellphones don't sound good over the air. Maybe they sound all right in the studio. But once it goes over the air, it usually sounds lousy. More often than not, we have a hard time understanding everything they are saying. That's the facts, Jack.
Why not just don't take callers? If you can't fill the space with intelligent sports talk between yourselves, then where's the problem? If you have to use callers as a "crutch" to fill the hour, just sayin'.

Amen. A thousand times yes!
Between the callers who mumble, the callers with crappy cells, the callers who cant get to the point, the old timers who are all of the above... I feel the same way: One of the hosts says "Go to the people!" that is my signal to switch stations. Nobody cares what Steve in Chesterfield thinks the Lions will do against the Chiefs.
