Why can't these shows just move over to WDFN? The WDFN signal reaches Detroit proper better, and the BIN network would complement it. Because Riverview wouldn't allow WFDF to build its towers near the WJR site, they had to build it in Carleton. This left a marginal signal to much of Detroit. WFDF serves the Western part of the Metro well as a result, and even Ann Arbor at Night, nearly as strong as WJR, much better than WWJ at Night, and that is more in line with a Sports format. I find it very difficult to believe that they would go to a Conservative Talk format. The WJR format is in disarray since Rush Limbaugh died, and no one has come even close to his influence.

Do any BIN stations have local programming at all other than traffic and maybe a few news headlines? I don't think iHeart wants to spend money on talent, and for whatever reason won't broker daytime slots. All they want is network coverage.
Even if they did broker, rates are too high for most of the hosts. Sima's stations save WPON charge $300 per hour. The rated stations and probably Salem charge more I would think. Not sure about WMKM.

WMFN 640 Peotone, IL has some really good local news programming, at the every least. Their 4400 watt signal at 640 is in a favorable direction and path toward the center of the target demographics. I'd have to listen more to see if there are are local talk programs. WVON 1690 does have local programs, but their signal isn't that good at the top of the dial.

Heard Fox Sports this morning. Now it's a mix of that, dead air, and PSAs.
I think Fox Sports was on The Roar. Their signal is horrid in my area, I have no idea if they are still on.

Speaking of downgrades, I tried giving Jason Smith/Mark Harmon a listen last night. I had to turn it off after 5 minutes because it sounded like they were both hopped up on multiple shots of Espresso, constantly speaking in a borderline "yelling" voice.
And that's a major disappointment for me because Jason Smith was once upon a time one of my favorite radio sports personalities back when he had a solo show on ESPN a little over ten years ago (AllNite with Jason Smith). Paired with Mike Harmon, I find them both completely unlistenable.

They switched to ESPN earlier this hour, then back to Fox Sports in the middle of a sentence! This is either a stunt or incompetence.
