Re: More News on TV5
You really think you know how things work at other places and yet you don’t.
Matt I get why you can’t handle this.

The life of BTS…
Complain, complain, complain…
Someone comes along with a solution/different idea…
BTS says “You’re wrong!” Goes back to complaining.
Feel free to illuminate us to what we said that’s incorrect… that management can’t raise pay and benefits… or that unions can’t come to the table to renegotiate on its members’ behalf?
Matt, I get why you’re so miserable when you hang out with people like BTS who play the victim all day long.

Because you haven’t said anything correct about your $18 wage claim. It may be true for some employees at Gray. You said all. That’s bullshit and you act like you know everything.
You also don’t have a clue on why anchors are on certain shows. You think you do, but you don’t.
If it’s so easy to open a contract for wage increases, why didn’t you do it for your contract? Oh right, because that’s not how things work.

Why didn’t I open a discussion for an $18 an hour wage? Because I wouldn’t want a pay cut.
Shows how much BTS knows…
But other media professionals should have the same opportunity to earn a fair wage. It’s that simple in order to attract and retain good talent.

Where did I say $18 an hour was a bad thing? Frankly I agree with a lot of your big picture complaints about these corporations.
My issue is you think you know everything and you don’t, especially a station you didn’t work for.

8 posted and half a dozen spots totally removed. 12 is down a solid 15+ people that they'll never get back.sinklair wrote: ↑Sun Sep 18, 2022 4:23 am WNEM and 12 each have 8 openings posted. 25-66 has 5 job listings. The stations are down about a quarter of the newsroom.
Most contracted employees were making over $18 an hour. Stick to what you know…
I find it amusing that you’re actually trying to criticize a company that is raising entry level wages. I’m less concerned that David Custer didn’t get a raise than the kid barely able to pay for food and rent. Plus some of the other benefits (vacation time, 401K, health care) impact every employee.
Why aren’t you criticizing Sinclair, Allen Media and others that are raking in record levels of political dollars, yet aren’t doing what Gray TV is doing… sharing some of that wealth with its employees?
I will stick to what I know. These major broadcasters need to follow WNEM/Gray’s lead in focusing on hiring and keeping its good workers.

JACK, SINKLAIR: Do you have links to the job postings? I may be interested in an engineering position.
