Cameron's Show Theme Song
(With apologies to Gilligan's Island)
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a radio show
That moved to WDTK
For how long—no one knows.
The host was a mighty sportin' man,
The producer in the know.
Five listeners tuned in that day
For a three hour show,
A three hour show.
The signal started getting weak,
The wires all were crossed.
If not for the courage of the producer,
The program would be lost,
The program would be lost.
The show washed up on the waves of a
Low power transmitter
With Cameron,
Producer too,
Curt from Fraser, and Gary,
Mark from Warren,
Mr. Positive, and Rich Kinkaide,
Here on Cameron's show.

With my apologies to the Mary Tyler Moore Show ... and Oscar Hammerstein:
Who can turn his audience off being a boor?
Who can take all things
And suddenly make them into something we deplore?
Well it's you obtuse Ron and you're no journalistic Scoop
As the Buzzboard is on to your dupe.
Ron is about himself, always talking about Cory
It's nothing but his imagined past glory.
You're not gonna make the Michigan Hall of Fame after all.

I feel like this is a story that I’m out of the loop on...MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Mon Jul 05, 2021 4:28 pm Ah, yes. 101.5. The station that most likely is broadcasting with unauthorized facilities. Station comes in loud & clear in portions of Wayne County where the signal should be nearly nonexistent.

Re: Ron Cameron
With a 3 hr. show I am quite sure Ron is busy lining up his guests for the first month. He'll need to come up with a weekly guest to keep the flow of the show going. I know Ron is smart enough to know he cannot sustain 3 hours of open line each week. God help us all if he does that. I also know that Ron is busy prepping with this downtime to be on top of all of the goings on in the sportsworld. I'm SURE Ron knows he cannot just show up to the DTK station with a newspaper and just wing it like he has for years. While Ron is missing out on "a lot to talk about in the sportsworld today folks" during this time, Ron is smart enough to be prepping for where the grass is greener and will be ready to go on July 18th. Apparently, Ron has passed the health screenings at DTK so that his audience does not have to listen to the ridiculous live remotes like last time. Looking forward to a re-energized show with Ron Cameron. Does this mean he gets his theme music back of "We are the Champions" ?
Re: Ron Cameron
Yes, “We are the Champions.” Because being a "champion" is the first thing that comes to mind when I think of Ron. I guess he couldn’t clear rights to “Lonesome Loser.”Mr.Transistor wrote: ↑Mon Jul 05, 2021 10:24 pm Does this mean he gets his theme music back of "We are the Champions" ?

Re: Ron Cameron
Wondering who will be the producer for the show and what will the theme of the show be. Structured segments or topic to topic switch each minute. Looks like on Twitter page, the new show is looking for a producer and Martin is a employee I believe at WPON?
Re: Ron Cameron
How Ron will probably fill the three hours:
- More commercials
- A trivia question each hour
- More commercials
- Allowing the regular callers to call each hour
- More commercials
- A new found interest in sports like auto racing, tennis, and golf
- More commercials
Re: Ron Cameron
Please let it be Matt!!! I'll sign a petition if that'll help. Or if not Matt, maybe Luke, the host of Dialed in Detroit, could step in. He produced one of Ron's post-diarrhea remote shows & memorably gave Ron some lip when asked what he was doing. "I'm trying to keep you on the air!" I think either one could be counted on to occasionally cause Ron's head to explode & give us the entertainment we crave.radiofan1974 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 12:48 pm Wondering who will be the producer for the show and what will the theme of the show be. In addition to the possible return of Cowboy & JJ, can Super Rasiday (sp) be waiting in the wings, too?!
Maybe Ron can mine the vast collection of his podcasts from the WDTK library for the "Best of Cameron" & just add real-time commercials.
Re: Ron Cameron
The song ends with Ron spinning around in front of the Fox Theatre, with glimpses of Ford Field, Comerica Park, and Little Caesar's Arena in the background. As he throws his Detroit Tigers cap in the air, he stumbles and falls and is almost hit by a passing D.O.T. bus.Momo wrote: ↑Mon Jul 05, 2021 12:37 pm With my apologies to the Mary Tyler Moore Show ... and Oscar Hammerstein:

Re: Ron Cameron
Yes, Bobbert, & Ron long feasts on this near-miss, saying how his condition was “touch & go” in the aftermath. Also, before the song’s ending, he’s shown lamenting the high-cost of groceries. And rather than dejectedly tossing an item into his cart, he furtively folds it inside his unseasonable trench coat.

The search for a producer makes me think of Martin Sheen's line from Apocalypse Now:radiofan1974 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 12:48 pm Wondering who will be the producer for the show and what will the theme of the show be. Re: Ron Cameron
Haha. I hope the nationwide recruiting effort bears fruit by next Sunday or we may be facing a further delay of the launch. But as he's planning to embark on his new Sunday primetime venture, Ron must be supremely confident. Broadcasting a show up against the likes of Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color & The Ed Sullivan Show is usually a fool's errand. But this is no suicide mission, as he's not going to be competing with the juggernaut that is Bonanza. In any case, he'll be home in time to watch John Charles Daly moderate What's My Line.Bobbert wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 10:26 amThe search for a producer makes me think of Martin Sheen's line from Apocalypse Now:radiofan1974 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 06, 2021 12:48 pm Wondering who will be the producer for the show and what will the theme of the show be. Re: Ron Cameron
Hopefully the new producer will be tech-savvy enough to know that WDTK can now be streamed on television through the Radio.com service. So Ron's listeners can multi-task with his show and their favorite TV show.Momo wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 12:14 pmHaha.
