If he believes the death penalty is wrong, he should at least be consistent. He's an old hypocrite fraud who should just go back to Deleware and die.
I believe he said acts of terrorism and hate motivated mass murders should be exceptions.
Because they are less heinous than what the pile of human garbage Graham cited did? Or is it politically based? Fuck this senile hypocrite.
Political based, 100%. Done to appease the ACLU faction, while at the same time keeping the perpetrators of the most politically sensitive cases on Death Row. Is he against the death penalty, or isn't he?
… because commuting the death sentence of the Boston Marathon bomber would be met with… controversy let’s say.
Oh, for sure it would be controversial if he would have commuted the Boston Bomber, or the others still on death row. But again, is he truly against the death penalty? If so, and he truly feels that strongly about it, why not commute them to life in prison like the rest? I'm certain his decision was extremely controversial for the family, friends, and communities affected by the other 37 inmates. It's a middle finger to those people, telling them their loss wasn't as serious as the others. These guys weren't on death row for no reason. If he was worried about the controversy and excluded them because of it, then it was a politically motivated decision.
When they walk into your house… on the wall in front of them must be a sign that says “how many dead horses have you beat today?”.
So confirmed the commutations were political and not based on sincerely held convictions. Thank you.
Actually I’m merely pointing out that once you make a statement of a position your next several posts are either complete repetition of the first one or some sort of rearrangement like somebody with a giant board of magnetic letters trying to see how many combinations they can make.
Donald Trump… In your guts you know he’s nuts.

So he's against rape now? It wasn't a big issue when he and half of his nominees were the rapists...

I'm not sure about the past-tense usage of "rapist" is. Seems to me to be one of those conditions where former/were/past/one-time/previous/erstwhile doesn't really apply. Matt Gaetz isn't a former rapist, he is a rapist. Donald Trump isn't a previous perpetrator of sexual harassment, he was found liable for sexual assault that a judge later clarified as being a rape, so he is a rapist.

I'm just saying once you've crossed that Rubicon, you hold that characterization to your dying day. You've raped, therefore you are a rapist. Period.

I agree that once you've raped someone, you're always a rapist. That could have been better stated as "So he's against rape now? It wasn't a big issue when he and half of his nominees were revealed to be rapists..."

At least for me that rings a lot truer.
