I used the link to the WXYZ site earlier today, just to read the posting that jmeltonwx alerted us to in this thread.jmeltonwx wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 2:45 pm CW is now going to WMYD

I'm surprised that CBS isn't taking more of a chance to run CBS News Detroit on 50 at other times - maybe even something like a 9pm newscast.
Awesome. Thank you! I tend to pick up more Lansing and the occasional Flint station, coming from Detroit, I'm not used to things like that.statmanmi wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 3:59 pmThe insight I can offer on the Lansing market's CW situation:Mega Hertz wrote: ↑Mon Oct 30, 2023 6:29 pm We have something weird over this way. WLAJ (ABC) and WLNS (CBS) do something of a time share. WLNS runs their news on WLAJ, and WLAJ 53.2 has some kind of alternate CW. Strange stuff.
* It's a single broadcast stream (on RF14) that provides the virtual channels:
6.1 WLNS (CBS affiliate WLNS, as the "guest" on RF14) 1080i HD
53.1 WLAJ (ABC affiliate) 720p HD
53.2 WLAJ (CW programming) 720p HD
* Both licensed stations are basically owned by Nexstar, as WLAJ is officially held by Mission Broadcasting, who has a Shared Services Agreement (SSA) with Nexstar (WLNS's licensed owner) to operate WLAJ.
* WLAJ is actually CW+, since Lansing is a small market size. Northern Michigan's CW seems to also be the CW+ service. Wikipedia article explains it better than what I'd type: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_CW_Plus . This might be why Mega Hertz noted WLAJ 53.2 being different than how CW previously was presented in Detroit, or continues to be in West Michigan (on WWMT 3.2 RF7 as 1080i HD).

I'm betting the Fri. post on WXYZ's website was made hidden because it came out earlier than the corporate press release.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 6:51 pmIndeed, you are correct!statmanmi wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 4:02 pmI used the link to the WXYZ site earlier today, just to read the posting that jmeltonwx alerted us to in this thread.jmeltonwx wrote: ↑Fri Nov 03, 2023 2:45 pm CW is now going to WMYD

But now that link is dead. And my quick look on the WXYZ / WMYD website doesn't find a replacement posting.
Could it be that decisions have been made rather quickly that quashed this? Or maybe the posting will be replaced soon with a different start date for the CW programming to be on 20.1?
Stay tuned...

Perhaps CW and WADL are negotiating a carriage agreement?
Hulu TV does not and they don't carry TV 20 either, the future home of The CW. I had YouTube TV and they didn't carry TV 20 either.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Nov 04, 2023 12:36 pm YouTube TV currently carries the national CW stream as part of its channel lineup in my locale (Metro Detroit). Other streaming providers out there perhaps do so as well.
